THE ROTARY SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY FORUM

To be held at Auckland University in January 2018

A Levin Rotary Club panel, consisting of Dr. Derek Burns, Mr. Brent Page and Ms Justine Street interviewed two Waiopehu College students on 4 September 2017 and two Horowhenua College students on 5 September 2017. These interviews were undertaken to select a nominee to represent Levin at the annual Rotary Science and Technology Forum to be held in January 2018 at Auckland University.

We take this opportunity to acknowledge and record the high calibre and performance of each of the students and to thank them for attending the interviews. They came to the interviews well prepared and all presented themselves with maturity, scientific knowledge and confidence.

We also wish to acknowledge and thank the Principals and staff of both Colleges for the time and assistance which you put into selecting and presenting the four students for interview.  Your work in selecting the students and the documentary information you provided definitely made the job of the interviewing panel easier.

The prime purpose of this correspondence is to inform you that the panel unanimously selected Ciara Nicholson from Waiopehu College to be our nominee to attend the Forum.   We ask that you inform the students of this selection.

Whilst the other three students were not successful in their application, we congratulate them on their presentations, scientific knowledge, and confidence at the interviews. We wish them every success in their chosen careers.
