Local National MP Candidate Tim Costley and Hon Louise Upton spoke to year 13 students from Waiopehu, Horowhenua and Manawatu Colleges. Students learnt about the voting system in New Zealand and how to have their say. They were encouraged to join the youth advisory group and enrol to vote up to six months before they turn 18. Students who vote as soon as they turn 18 are more likely to vote through their lives and it is young people who have the longest period of time living through decisions that are made in Government.
